About

New Hampshire Turtle Rescue is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Nottingham. NHTR was founded in 2022 by Dallas Huggins and Drew Stevens, licensed wildlife rehabilitators in the state of New Hampshire, after their mentor and long-time turtle rehabber Chris Bogard retired. As of 2025, they have provided care to over 800 wild turtles.

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, release, and preserve native turtle species through individualized care, public education, outreach, and scientific research in support of imperiled populations of wild New Hampshire turtles.

If you find an injured turtle or have questions, call or text us at (603) 417-4944. For non-urgent questions, you can write us through phone text or through Facebook or Instagram.
