Drew is a founding member of New Hampshire Turtle Rescue and has been helping to lead the organization as president since 2022. Drew holds several degrees completely unrelated to wildlife rehabilitation or ecology but maintains a deep passion for preserving the natural world and its inhabitants. After gaining practical experience in wildlife rehabilitation through volunteer work, Drew and Dallas sought to address the lack of resources available for injured turtles in the state and established NHTR. As President, Drew oversees all aspects of the organization, from strategic planning and fundraising to hands-on rescue operations and facility management. Looking ahead, Drew envisions a future where New Hampshire Turtle Rescue can expand its reach and impact even further by establishing new rescue centers, enhancing educational programs, and advocating for stronger environmental protections to ensure a future for these magnificent creatures.

Karen is a veterinarian who has been practicing as a small animal internist in New Hampshire, for whom wildlife has always been a passion. While a veterinary student, she volunteered at a raptor center and she spent two summers doing wildlife rehabilitation. When she learned NH Turtle Rescue was looking for volunteers she jumped at the chance to learn about and help turtles. She is expanding her medical knowledge about new species and finds turtles to be so endearing she is helping to raise funds for their care and contributes to educating the public about turtles. When not working with turtles, she volunteers for various animal welfare and environmental groups, rides bikes, cross country skis, hikes, travels and is trying to learn foreign languages!
I escorted my first turtle across the road 30 years ago and have been hooked on turtles and other reptiles ever since! As a New Hampshire Turtle Rescue board member, I hope to contribute to turtle conservation in some small way. I am an avid bird watcher and wildlife trail camera enthusiast. I enjoy working on various wildlife related projects including: maintaining acres of snake habitat, growing milkweed, and coexisting with a colony of bats in my yard.
